About Me
Gelline Guevarra is an emerging artist from Sacramento, CA. She has recently founded her own company, GGProjects in addition to graduating from California State University, Sacramento. Ms. Guevarra received her Bachelors of Arts in Dance and in Deaf Studies, both of these feed her passion for creating movement and working with other individuals. During her time at CSUS, Gelline has had the opportunity to work and train with renown choreographers such as Raja Feather Kelly, Lula Washington, Michel Kouakou, Gary Masters, Li Chiao-Ping, Tiffany Rea-Fisher, and Christine Cali. Gelline is only beginning her journey as a choreographer and dancer. She looks forward to continuing cultivating her voice as an artist in collaboration with others.
Experience
California State University, Sacramento
Gelline graduated CSUS with a B.A. in both Dance and Deaf Studies. In her collegiate career she was presented with opportunities to showcase her work in formal concerts and at the American College Dance Association Festival. She also had the opportunity to work with faculty such as Lorelei Bayne, Nolan T'Sani, Bernard Brown, Dr. Linda Goodrich, Megan Brunsvold Mercedes, and Philip Flickinger.
GG Projects
Gelline has also branched out on her own to explore creative work outside of a scholastic environment. Her company has presented work at Nhan Ho Project's "Images of Dance 2019" and the Crocker Art Museum's "Hatch".
Professional Experience and Workshops
Gelline had the opportunity to study under numerous well-known artists who have inspired her to create and explore movement. She attended Bates Dance Festival in 2018 and danced for Michel Kouakou. While at CSUS Gelline had the opportunity to work with artists such as Raja Feather Kelly, Li-Chiao Ping, Gary Masters, Lula Washington, Tiffany Rae-Fisher, Lori Bryhni, and Angela Rosenkrans.​
